I Don’t Want To Smell Like Isaiah Mustafa

I love the Old Spice ads. I jumped on that meme fast. I loved what Old Spice did with social media and the YouTube videos and I’ll quickly run to the web to find the latest edition of what the Old Spice Man is up to with each new clip.

BUT.. I will never wear Old Spice. The reason is simple, I don’t like the smell of deodorant.

Game Day? Playmaker? Swagger? Showtime? After Hours?

No matter what flavour I sniff it all smells like the Jersey Shore. They might as well come out with a scent called GTL, because it’s all too douche for me.

Where can a guy get UNscented deodorant? It’s always a struggle when I try to hunt down a replacement bar and there are none to be found again.

Tell me guys, you dont *really* like the smell of that stuff do you?

And ladies, is there a scent you prefer? Aqua Reef? Arctic Force? Denali?

The commercials for Old Spice and Axe would make guys believe you actually like the artificial musky man scent – is it true?

I couldn’t agree more! On a recent business trip I needed to replace forgotten deodorant so I tried out “Matterhorn.” For the rest of my trip I kept doing a double take, or whiff, as the scent was so unfamiliar and awful. Needless to say it has joined the heap of crap deodorant in my bathroom drawer.

I wish deodorant brands would stop targeting our girlfriends, wives, and mothers and let us choose! They would quickly see that most men aren’t looking for a new deodorant. We want the same one we’ve always used, yet they keep changing or discontinuing them. As a man I want the Old Spice of my granddads generation, not something fit for the Orange Oompa Loompas of Jersey Shore.

Recently Gillette discontinued my “flavour” that I had used since I was 14. Now what am I supposed to do? I can assure you it won’t be “After Hours” or “Showtime,” nor will it be Dove for Men, and I certainly won’t be letting the Mrs. choose for me!

We guys are creatures of habit, that’s for sure.

    Great commercials. Putrid stuff.

All I use is Secret, baby powder smell. Made for a woman but strong enough for a man!

“all too douche for me” – haha, great line Buzz!

Old Spice, despite recent efforts to make it cool with the ads featuring the Old Spice guy, still smells like Old Spice… and by that I mean my grandpa. And Axe is beyond nauseating as well…

Cologne is one item that you need to get off your wallet for boys. There’s nothing better than a man with a great scent. Ladies are not impressed by cheap cologne… Cheap with cologne, cheap in life?

Like with most perfumes, the scent a man uses needs to be a subtle undertone, not an overpowering cloud the precedes him wherever he goes.
