I’ve got some good news and some bad news when it comes to outdoor and drive-in movies in Calgary this summer.
First the good news: there will be outdoor movies this summer in Calgary.
The bad news? Finding them will be a little tougher.
One of the city’s biggest drive-in movie traditions, at Deerfoot Mall, has been sidetracked for a season. For the past few years, Deerfoot Mall has packed their parking lot on Wednesday evenings for Calgary drive-in movies. However, with renovations ramping up as the property transforms into Deerfoot City, the tradition has been put on hold:
@buzzbishop Due to construction, we won’t be hosting the Drive-In Movies in 2016. Hope to bring this signature event back in the future.

So if you want to catch a flick from the backseat, you’ll have to wait until next year. Same goes for Scenic Acres, they’ve had them in the past but not this year.
But .. there are still other chances to catch outdoor movies in Calgary – just not from your car.
