Calgary Hitmen 2015 Teddy Bear Toss

The Calgary Hitmen’s Teddy Bear Toss is one of the best sporting events on the planet.

The 2015 game was epic as 19,289 fans, the largest crowd for a Calgary Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss, threw a World Record 28,815 stuffed toys flying after the Hitmen scored their first goal of the game.

The 2015 Calgary Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss game was the 21st annual edition for the team that routinely sees around 25 000 teddy bears fly through the air when the home team scores their first goal of the game.

This year, however, the team broke their own 2007 record of 26,819. It was HUGE. Watch the WORLD RECORD 2015 Teddy Bear Toss Madness as 28,815 bears fly through the air:

The 2015 Calgary Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss goal was scored at 2:41 of the 2nd period by Jordy Stallard.

The bears are collected up and distributed to local charities. It sounds like a lot of bears, but they are very much welcomed and needed.

Kids who are fleeing domestic abuse, going through illness, recovering from accidents, or house fires all receive a furry, cuddly friend to bring a smile to their face. More than 50 Calgary agencies benefit from the Teddy Bear Toss and each year, despite the tens of thousands of bears, they always say they could hand out more.

What an awesome awesome event, and a favorite of my boys each year.
