Seen In Calgary #23: Cloud Making Machines

Great photo taken yesterday morning by Daniel Läntelä as Calgary warmed up in the sunshine.

After a couple of days of bitter cold we eked above zero and the hot air rising from the downtown buildings gathered in a cloud over the core.

Now, tell me again how people don’t contribute to climate change? The tallest building outside of Toronto just gave birth to a cloud!

This cloud reminds me of the mushroom cloud I saw bursting above the cloud making machines of downtown this summer. A vicious storm was east of the city and the thunderhead just looked like a bomb had been dropped.

My wife calls the usual cloud formations you see dotting the horizon “Simpson’s clouds.” These ones are far from that.
